Barbara Mosimann - Oesch completed her training as a classical artistic dancer at the State Ballet Academy of the University of Music in Munich under the direction of Konstanze Vernon and Michel de Lutry. For two years she received the Migros Culture Percentage Study Award in the dance department and completed stages with Marika Besobrasova in Monte Carlo.

Barbara Mosimann - Oesch danced at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich under Lynn Seymour. Afterwards she was under contract with Armando Jorge at the National Ballet in Lisbon. At the Stadttheater Bern she received guest engagements under the direction of Reda Sheta. During her career she has danced choreographies by Frederik Ashton, George Balanchine, Auguste Bournonville, John Cranko, John Neumeier, Youri Vámos, Erich Walter and Peter Wright, among others.

She completed her advanced training in ballet pedagogy (Waganowa method) with Ursula Borrmann, lecturer for classical dance and ballet pedagogy at the Ballet Academy in Cologne. Barbara Mosimann - Oesch worked for a long time as an expert at the consulting and information days for stage dance professions and as an examiner for the final exam "Proof of Aptitude for Stage Dancer EFZ" at the Zurich Dance Academy.

Barbara Mosimann-Oesch is a member of Danse Suisse (professional association of Swiss dance professionals).
