The training area of "DIE INSEL" was founded in 1994 by Christina and Andreas M. Bertram.

One of the core ideas of the founders was to offer a comprehensive, functional and individual training based on modern, training-scientific knowledge. The focus should be on the person and not on the training equipment. This training area should offer both the public and the patients of the practice for physiotherapy and occupational therapy, accompanying or after the completion of their therapy, the opportunity to perform an individual, well-supervised, holistic training.

For the first 24 years DIE INSEL was located at Leonhardsstrasse 53 in Basel.

Since October 1, 2018, you can find us in new, modern premises at Steinenring 45, together with the practice for physiotherapy and occupational therapy of Christina and Andreas M. Bertram.

Since July 1, 2018, DIE INSEL Training has been under the management of Valerie Saskia Frei. With the support of her parents Sarah and Chris Frei as well as the whole team, which consists of qualified movement educators and qualified physiotherapists, the members of DIE INSEL receive expert, individual and personal care.

The well-rehearsed cooperation with the physiotherapists of DIE INSEL - Physiotherapy remains close and direct as usual.
