BKS Iyengar was a yoga master who lived in India from December 14, 1918 to August 20, 2014. He developed his own style of yoga. His method is practiced all over the world.

YOGA IN GENERAL Yoga is a practical philosophy that is thousands of years old and has its roots in India. The goals of yoga are of utmost importance. Goals that every human being strives for: Strengthening health, self-knowledge, understanding others, and further development of the ability to better love, trust, and accept difficult things.

IYENGAR YOGA IN PARTICULAR Iyengar yoga in particular is characterized by precise and long-lasting external and internal alignment of body positions and breathing techniques. Concentration is trained, thoughts come to rest and we can experience deeper aspects of our being. Aids are also used: eg; belts, chairs, blocks, panels and walls. These help the practitioner to become even more individual.
